About Frey Media Holding
When entrepreneur Marc Frey founded Frey Media Holding in 1992, the digital revolution was just beginning. Taking full advantage of this fortunate timing, the company came of age right alongside it, transforming from a traditional publishing company into an impressive multi-media holding company that crafts media, marketing and investment solutions that work for its audience, customers, and business partners through five separate operating divisions:

Frey Media Holding has its roots in Golfer’s Guide, which was a single golf publication in Hilton Head when Frey purchased it in 1992. His vision of expanding Golfer’s Guide region by region proved effective. It was soon distributed in six Florida markets and Myrtle Beach and a second wave of growth took it to the West Coast. In 1998, Frey’s company purchased a rival publication, giving Golfers’ Guide a strong foothold in the Midwest and Northeast.
Today, Golfer’s Guide Marketing Solutions LLC publishes the ADDY award-winning Golfers’ Guide in 22 markets in the USA and Canada and reaches over 14 million active golfers a year. By the end of 2010, those numbers are expected to grow past 25 markets and 16 million readers a year.
Golfers’ Guide Marketing Solutions offers clients a true multimedia approach including the print magazine, America’s most widely read golf magazine with feature stories and comprehensive information on golf related topics; its website, GolfersGuide.com – considered one of the most complete and engaging golf portals in the industry, as well as three additional websites: GolfersGuideLiving.com, GolfersGuideTravel.com, and TeeTimeSavings.com and the Player’s Club E-mail newsletter.
On the heels of Golfer’s Guide’s growth, the company launched Monthly Media Group LLC, which now publishes both the print and digital versions of Hilton Head Monthly, an editorial driven publication that focuses on issues affecting the greater Hilton Head Island and Southern Beaufort County area. Frey’s acquisition of the magazine in 1995 gave the publication needed financial and technical resources that enabled it to become a full-color publication with professional and entertaining editorial content. Hilton Head Monthly is distributed to property owners throughout South Carolina’s Southern Beaufort County and across the nation every month.
Monthly Media Group LLC has embraced the advantages of e-publishing. The digital version of Hilton Head Monthly is freed from the space constraints of traditional print and is able to delve even deeper into content. Weekly e-mail news blasts are sent to thousands of digital subscribers in the Monthly database. It has recently introduced specialty sub sites, like HiltonHeadBridalShow.com and HiltonHeadRealEstateResource.com that complement the print version’s specialty sections on bridal, home building and other industries. Monthly Media Group LLC also hosts special events related to the specialty sections and sub-sites, making Monthly Media Group LLC the most comprehensive source of information on various industries in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Frey Media Holding has branched out into Internet Marketing services through another operating division, 360 Forward, which provides website design and development and search engine support for external clients. To date, 360 Forward has developed sites for over 300 companies, many of them golf courses and others as diverse as banks and arts organizations.
Frey Media Holding’s most recent venture is the Timber Investment Fund. It is a safer investment alternative that offers competitive returns by making the highly attractive timber asset class a reality for accredited private investors and institutions.
After years of operating out of offices in both Indiana and South Carolina, Frey Media Holding centralized all operations on Hilton Head Island in 2007. That same year the company purchased its corporate headquarters. Best Building LLC owns the real estate occupied by the various operating companies under the Frey Media Holding umbrella.
While Frey Media has grown tremendously since its inception in 1992; CEO Marc Frey stresses the company’s fundamentals remain the same. “Publishing is about having good content, reaching the reader and connecting advertisers with the reader,” he says. “The principles haven’t changed. We’ve simply grown and adapted as technology and consumer behavior have changed.”
